So Bagel Boy isn't exactly brand new, and I'm not exactly one of the first people to try it - far from it! But this bagel cafe isn't in the sort of location you stumble upon - I was with a friend who knew where it was and had heard good things, so we decided to give it a try.
The decor inside is simple, yet Bristol-arty, with a white and wood theme. You sit on wooden benches (unless the sofas haven't already been taken), in a spot lit white room. This place says Bristol all over it, from the decor to the 'proudly independent' and distinctive nature of the cafe. I certainly can't name any other cafe/restaurants dedicated to Bagels in Bristol.
The menu consists of 'Classics', 'Supremes', and 'Patties', which are also just bagels, with different fillings, and Patties are apparently bigger. There are also sides, salads, meal deals and drinks, including hot drinks, and of course some eating challenges too! We both chose a Patty each - I chose the Baa'd Boy £6.00 pictured below right (name appropriate due to the meat being lamb), and my friend chose the Hot Boy £6.00 - below left. You get the trend; each bagel is named '[something] Boy'. The Onion Rings (below left) were £1.50. They were quite tiny, but I suppose £1.50 is quite good - and they were delicious, proper oniony rings.

Bagel Boy is essentially a burger place, but instead of burger buns you have - yep, you guessed it - bagels. The Bagel burgers were delicious - my lamb was topped with cooling fresh feta cheese, salad, and chilli mayo giving it that added flavour. The oozing dripping feta definitely made it stand out from your ordinary lamb burger (although admittedly, lamb isn't a common meat in a burger, so that was a nice change). My friend's beef burger was topped with jalapenos (hence the name), bacon, salad, and that signature chilli mayo again. He definitely thoroughly enjoyed it.
The prices are fairly decent in my opinion, especially since there aren't any places quite like it to my knowledge, and since the bagels are completely rammed full of ingredients. The atmosphere is chilled, it wasn't busy but that was quite nice. Another place I'd definitely recommend if you're tired of the same old burger place and just fancy a chill out. Admire the art work while you're there too!
