The atmosphere was just as a Fayre should be in the middle of August – a bustling, busy, fun family atmosphere. Music from a cello and violin duo firstly set the tone nicely for Purple Paul playing Hang Pan, followed by Silver Foxes, finishing the musical accompaniment to such a lovely event with the Kookyukes. The music felt well thought out by the organiser; Tonya Paul from Abode Furnishings, as it fitted brilliantly with the setting and the day itself, putting smiles on everyone’s faces. The music wasn’t the only thing to put smiles on faces of those perusing the Arcade and the event. Polar Pops were selling their very unique and reasonably priced lollies, which proved very popular in the day’s heat. Kids tootled about with their painted faces and tattoo style paints, and there were many things to nibble too with food sampling from resident store in the Arcade; My Little France, and a Mexican wrestler in full costume making Mexican food. There was even a tombola and lucky dip! Really something for everyone at this lovely summer event. | Bristol was graced with a few days of lovely weather just before all this rain, and what perfect timing to have the Clifton Arcade Summer Fayre on Saturday in the quaint historical building, with its beautiful architecture on Boyce’s Avenue in Clifton Village! On a normal day, the Clifton Arcade is a lovely place to take a relaxed stroll and browse the unique, some vintage, some niche, independent stores that are situated along both sides of the Arcade, and lovely friendly shop owners too. The Clifton Arcade Summer Fayre ran from 12pm-4pm, the opportune hours for the sun to beam down through the glass roof that the shops and businesses are housed under, and that the food stalls, cake stalls, and music found their home beneath on Saturday too. |
